Edinumen ELEteca LTI Integration

Edinumen ELEteca provides LTI 1.1 integration support to allow SSO (Single Sign On) between client LMS and ELEteca and also seamless rostering for teachers and students.

Using this solution, Edinumen digital materials can be accessed directly from your own platform without the need to create new teacher or students accounts, use different passwords and onboarding/enrollment process.

If used in combination with Edinumen institutional purchases, code redemption and licenses activation is also unnecesary, giving teachers and students an easy onboarding experience.

Context and Objectives

The IMS Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standard prescribes a way to easily and securely connect learning applications and tools such us Edinumen ELEteca with platforms like learning management systems (LMS) in a secure and standard manner and without the need for expensive custom programming. Using LTI, ELEteca can be securely connected to your LMS with a few clicks. The LTI core establishes a secure connection and confirms the tool’s authenticity.

The objectives of the LTI standard are:

To provide a simple mash-up style deployment model consisting of a URL, key, and secret which the LMS administrator or the course instructor can enter into the LMS.
To define a protocol for launching an external application from an LMS in a way that supports single-sign-on and which preserves the learning context and user roles within that context.

5- After the verification and proof of concept you can get in touch with our sales team to get licenses and credentials and start using your materials.

Teachers and students usage

1- Once LTI link is configured into the course, teachers needs to choose Edinumen materials for the class. The first time a teacher open an ELEteca LTI link, they will be prompted to choose the materials from the list of their institution purchases available.

This is a one time process. Once done, they will reach the class materials in the context of the course they belong to into the LMS.

2- Students enrolled into your LMS course will also have access to the ELEteca LTI link.

a) If your institution purchased institution licenses for the materials selected by the teacher in the previous step, they will get automatically access to the course, consuming one license.

b) Else, if students purchase their own digital licenses or printed books, they will be prompted to redeem the code to activate the materials.

This is also a one time process. Once done, they will reach the class materials in the context of the course they belong to into the LMS.
